Vendors still needed for local craft fair

OSBURN — The 37th annual Osburn Arts and Crafts Fall Fair is just around the corner and event organizers are looking to add more vendors to the popular fall tradition.

After speculation that the fair could be shut down in 2016, Osburn resident Ashlee Myles stepped up to make sure that didn’t happen.

Now in her second year of planning, Myles is looking to grow off a successful first run as event coordinator.

“Last year went really well,” Myles said. “It was a lot of work, but I think it is worth it for those small businesses and people who like to shop locally.”

With the increasing availability of buying and selling arts, crafts and other knick knacks on social media, finding a person like Myles who understood how to reach those social media salespeople and bring them has been huge for the event.

“I have made sure to be very active on social media and have blasted the event all over the region in hopes of getting as many vendors and customers as we can,” Myles said.

The fair holds a special place in Myles’s heart, as she remembers going when she was younger, but she also loves the idea of people buying and selling locally just in time for the holidays.

“I love the craft fair,” Myles said. “As a crafter it’s a great way for people to make extra money, as a customer it’s a fun place to find holiday gifts for friends and family. I can remember coming to the craft fair with my mom and looking at all of the cool things made by these amazing people and I couldn’t see that go away.”

Myles still has availability for any vendors who want to be a part of the Nov. 3-4 event.

The craft fair will include handcrafted items, homemade jams, breads, pies, soaps, books by local authors, and much more.

Registration forms are available at all local post offices and grocery stores.
