Delbert “Del” Earl Houck, 92

Delbert “Del” Earl Houck, 92, passed away October 8, 2018 at Mountain Valley of Cascadia in Kellogg, Idaho. He was born on November 4, 1925 in Spalding, Nebraska; the son of Selber and Bertha (Headley) Houck.

Del moved with his family to the Silver Valley in 1939 from Nebraska and remained a resident until his passing.

Del served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. After being honorably discharged, Del returned home to the Silver Valley. He began working at the Bunker Hill Mine where he worked for 44 years before retiring.

In 1947, Del was united in marriage to the great love of his life, Elsie Johnson, in Superior, Montana.

Del was a proud and long-time member of the Cataldo Masonic Lodge #34 and attended church at the Silver Valley Worship Center.

Del enjoyed hunting, camping, going to rodeos and attending his grandsons’ sporting events.

Del is survived by his daughter, Emily Jeanne (Frank) Clouse of Absarokee, Montana; three grandsons Todd, Frankie, and Brett; three great-grandsons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Del was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; his son Leo Houck; as well as his parents.

Memorial services will be held on October 23, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Cory Berti officiating. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Cataldo Masonic Lodge #34: P.O. Box 767 Osburn, Idaho 83849.
