Osburn man killed in vehicle collision near Rathdrum

HAUSER – Idaho State Police reports that on Oct. 16, 2018 at 1:15 p.m., Troopers responded to a fatal crash near Chase Road, west of Rathdrum, Idaho.

Brady Robert McPhail, 20 years old, of Osburn, Idaho, was traveling eastbound in a white 2010 Buick Lucerne when he went into the westbound lane of travel. Lonnie Lee Mann, 55 years old, of Nebraska, was traveling westbound in a white 2010 Ford F-250 Super-Duty. McPhail’s vehicle struck Mann’s vehicle head-on.

McPhail was pronounced deceased at the scene while Mann was transported to Kootenai Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

McPhail was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The roadway was blocked for three and a half hours.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation is continuing.
