Shoshone County Assessor Candidate: Jerry White
Jerry White, 57, is running for the position of Shoshone County Assessor and plans to carry on with the work he has been doing in his current role.
“I will continue providing great service and retain knowledgeable, friendly employees,” he said.
White (D), the incumbent, is running unopposed for the position.
His immediate family includes his wife, Candi; two children, two step children and four grandchildren. His education includes a high school diploma from Kellogg High School, numerous International Association of Assessing Officers classes and Idaho State Tax Commission classes.
Recognized as a Certified Tax Appraiser by the Idaho State Tax Commission, White has served as Shoshone County Assessor for the last 16 years.
During this time, he has served as president of the Idaho Association of County Assessors from 2012-2013, chair of the Timber Committee for the Idaho Association of County Assessors, committeeman for Forestland Taxation Methodology, and is currently the vice president of the Idaho Association of Counties. He has also received the Mills-Adler award in 2010 for Outstanding County Elected Official.
White says that he believes in “fair, consistent, equitable evaluations for all taxpayers and also being available to the public.”
