Tamie Lewis-Eberhard, 59, is running for the position of Shoshone County Clerk of the District Court and wishes to meet the needs of the community while building strong relationships with other county employees.

“I will accomplish the responsibilities of this position using my core values: honesty, integrity and trust,” she said. “My extensive business and managerial experience will allow me to make sound decisions in the best interest of the county.”

Both Lewis-Eberhard (D) and her opponent, Melissa O’Connell (I), are running for the open position vacated by the retiring Clerk, Peggy White.

The oldest of four daughters, Lewis-Eberhard says that she grew up with strong extended family ties and a great work ethic. She has one son, Eric Fields, and a stepdaughter, Aubrey (Eberhard) Millard.

Her education includes a high school diploma from Kellogg High School, a degree from North Idaho College and a business degree from Lewis-Clark State College.

As for work experience, Lewis-Eberhard worked for GTE/Verizon for 29 years and held positions as a secretary, database engineer, field engineer, local manager and senior project engineer. After that she worked seven years for Hagadone Directories as the sales manager and operation manager. She also worked for the Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management writing emergency plans, staffing the Emergency Operations Center and coordinating emergency disaster efforts.

From 2014 to 2017, she owned and operated Tam’s Traveling Toilets, which she then sold in 2018.

“My prior business experience, close relationships with our community and sheer determination enabled us to triple the business,” she said.

Most recently, Lewis-Eberhard has been working in the Shoshone County Clerk’s office as Chief Deputy Clerk since April 2018.

“I assisted the current Clerk in preparing the 2018-2019 Budget, worked in all other departments and learned the responsibilities and challenges of the job,” she said.

She also serves as a current Commissioner for Shoshone Fire District No. 2 and Vice-Chair for the Emergency Medical Service Corp Board.

If elected, Lewis-Eberhard wishes to “foster a healthy team environment where people enjoy working together to serve our community to the best of our ability.”
