Shoshone County District No. 1 Commissioner Candidate: Mike Fitzgerald

Mike Fitzgerald, 54, is running for the position of Shoshone County District No. 1 Commissioner. He is a looking forward to continuing the work he and his fellow commissioners have been doing.

“I wish to promote a positive workplace that provides excellent services, continue to improve county finances, and enhance the perception of the county with the community and partnering entities,” he said.

Fitzgerald (D), the incumbent, is running unopposed for the position.

His immediate family includes his wife, Deanne; sons Liam and Travis; daughter Lynsey; and grandchildren Carson, Brayden and Teagan. His education includes a B.Sc. in geophysical engineering. and a M.Sc. in environmental Engineering.

In addition to currently serving as the Chairperson for the Shoshone County Board of County Commissioners, he has provided more than 32 years of professional engineering services to private sector clients and government agencies, as well as being a Silver Valley business owner for 12 years.

Fitzgerald says that he plans to focus on “looking forward” with his next term as Commissioner.
