In the late 1950’s Zelda went to work for the US Forest Service at the Kingston Ranger Station and retired after 25 years of service.

Zelda enjoyed the great outdoors, camping and fishing in area lakes, rivers and streams. She and Ed taught their children and grandchildren to love nature and traveled to locations throughout Idaho and Montana always stopping at the Dairy Queen in little towns they passed through. She was known for the beautiful blankets she crocheted and often gave as gifts. Zelda loved going on trips with her sisters and playing cards at the beaches in Washington and Oregon.
