Jeannie Marie Garnsey, 63

Cherished mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend, Jeannie Marie Garnsey, 63, of Osburn, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2018 at the Schneidmiller House of Hayden, Idaho. She was born on June 27, 1955; the daughter of Jay and Myrtle (Munson) Heidt.

Jeannie was born and raised in Wallace, Idaho. She attended Wallace High School and finished and graduated her senior year at the Challis High School. Jeannie returned to the Silver Valley in 1998, she always considered the valley her home.

It was also in 1998 that she met and married her soul mate, Gary Garnsey. For the next 20 years, they were each other’s teammate in life and did everything together. Their partnership was incredibly special and their memories will forever be treasured.

Jeannie worked as a professional seamstress and owned and operated Jeannie’s Sewing for over 31 years. She was a gifted seamstress who utilized her services for many local businesses and organizations, as well as countless special gowns and garments for special events. Jeannie also worked for the Kellogg Library for over 16 years,

Jeannie was an active person who believed in giving back and helping her community. She volunteered countless hours and tried to do as much as she could for the Shoshone Pet Rescue for over 20 years. She extended her creative abilities to create special quilts for charitable auctions for Shoshone Pet Rescue and Silver Valley Cat Wranglers. Jeannie would only adopt her beloved pets from rescues and gave them the best life she could. She cooked and prepared all her dogs food for over 20 years, making them delectable feasts, each and every day. Jeannie was quite the cook, she cooked for friends and family and special occasions. She also was a talented artist and created beautiful pieces of art throughout her home.

Jeannie was known for having a huge heart, caring for others, and her love for her community. She believed in being a good human being and genuinely loved to help people. She had a real zest for life and remained resilient throughout her health struggles. She never gave up fighting and far exceeded expectations. Jeannie was one in a billion.

Jeannie is survived by her loving husband, Gary Garnsey of Osburn, Idaho; her sister, Pat (Ronald) Fischer of Thompson Falls, Montana; two daughters, Jolene (Scott) Montoya of Emmett, Idaho and Marcie Cortez of Idaho Falls, Idaho; six grandchildren; and numerous cousins and extended family. Jeannie was preceded in death by both of her parents, Jay and Mrytle Heidt.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
