Wallace Elks Pageant 2018 contestants
WALLACE — The following are pictures and bios of the girls participating in the 2018 Wallace Elks Pageant. This year’s pageant will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge building, 419 Cedar St., Wallace.
- Mekayla Messick is a senior at Wallace High School where her favorite subjects are screenprinting, math, and science. Her school activities include: TSA, cheerleading, running track, and this summer she had the opportunity to attend Girls State.
She keeps busy by having many jobs around Wallace. Mekayla’s favorite pastimes are dancing, drawing, photography, singing and writing. In the future she plans to attend North Idaho College for forestry and wildlife management.
Her talent will be a clogging routine, and she is sponsored by the Wallace Lady Elks.
- Hannah Garitone is a senior at Wallace High School. Her favorite class is English. She’s involved with many school activities; Varsity volleyball, Varsity basketball, track, TSA, Student Council and also attended Girls State this summer.
Hannah enjoys snowboarding in the winter and this summer she worked hard watering all of the flowers in downtown Wallace.
Her plan after graduation is to attend Lewis-Clark State College or Montana State University where she hopes to take the nursing program. She would love to have the chance to run track for LCSC.
Hannah will be performing a country dance with a partner.
- Chloé Howell is a junior at Wallace High School, where her favorite class is science. She is a member of the Book Club, Art Club, National Honor Society, cheerleading and Student Council. Her passion is art with a focus on drawing and character design, but she also enjoys playing the clarinet.
Her future plan is to attend the University of Idaho and go into illustration.
Chloé is sponsored by the Wallace Gyros, and will be exhibiting her art work with a live illustration for her talent.
- Iyana King is a junior at Wallace High School where her favorite class is math. She tries to be active in school by cheerleading, running track and being a member of Book Club, National Honor Society and TSA.
She loves spending her free time swimming, and painting. This summer she kept busy working at the Red Light Garage.
Following graduation Iyana plans to become either an OBGYN or a physical therapist, and hopes to travel as much as possible to as many places she can.
Iyana will be showing off her talent of making the perfect milkshake which she perfected this summer. She is sponsored by the Osburn Lions.
- Skylar Hill is a junior at Wallace High School. Her favorite subjects are English, math and history. Skylar is very active in school with Student Council, volleyball, basketball and track.
Her favorite activities outside school are snowboarding, working out and going on hikes.
After graduation, Skylar plans to attend college and possibly join the Army.
She will be spreading Christmas cheer and showing her talent for decorating the perfect tree. She is sponsored by the Wallace Elks Drum and Bugle Corps.
