KELLOGG — The Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for their annual auction and this one promises to be a one of a kind event.

The “Open Season”-themed event will be a celebration of the fall season in North Idaho, so guests should plan their costumes accordingly.

The auction is the chamber’s most vital fundraiser and helps fund various parts of community events including Silver Hoops, the Christmas Lighting Festival, the Farmer’s Market and many others.

“We have some awesome auction items this year, including a seat on a Cat Ski Trip in Whitefish, a Jeep from Dave Smith Motors and many other great items,” said Mallory Phillips, chamber director.

“We have a lot of items that have been donated from local businesses, which is also part of what makes this event so successful.”

This year the auction will be in a new location at French Gulch Farm and Garden, which will perfectly accentuate the event’s theme.

Food will be provided by Simple Nutrition, and be hors d’oeuvre-style foods that are delicious and good for you.

“The chamber has many great events that they put on every year,” organizer Sarah Murphy said. “But the auction is the biggest event of the year for us from a financial aspect, because without it we wouldn’t be able to do a lot of the things that we do. We hope to make this year’s edition the best yet.”

Local band Sverwood will be providing entertainment throughout the evening.

The Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce auction is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.

Tickets are on sale right now, for more information, contact the Silver Valley Chamber office at 208-784-0821.

Parking for the event will be provided by DG&S in their parking lot and then the trolley will take people to and from French Gulch Farm and Gardens.
