Mike McNamee

Mike McNamee departed this world April 16, 2019, surrounded by family. Mike was born Jan. 14, 1963, to Maurice and Alice (Arms) McNamee. Mike was the youngest of eight children. He grew up realizing the value of family.

Mike worked as a miner from 1988 to 2002 in many locations. He loved his job. He worked underground until an accident in 2002 forced him to stop working.

Mike enjoyed the outdoors. He liked hunting, fishing, camping, biking and skiing. He loved watching his grandkids, nephews and nieces learn to ride motorcycles. He spent a lot of time in the woods with family and friends.

Mike was totally devoted to his family. He was always willing to drop everything to visit with you or help with a project. He would help his family and friends in a moments notice.

Through the years his family grew, as did the number of lives he touched.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Alice McNamee; his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Judy Flathers; his sister, Dorothy Mae; and aunts and uncles.

Mike leaves behind his wife, Lynette McNamee; sons Todd and (Tabitha), Tony, Ryan and (Bri); his granddaughter, Iyana and grandson Dagan; his siblings, Gloria Pecor, Maury (Karen) McNamee, Jackie (Fred) Stepro, Cathy (Tim) Sargent, Donna (Robert) Brengman, Marty McNamee, Brenda (Napo) Jemmings, Rob (Shelly) Flathers and Heather Flathers; and many awesome nieces and nephews.

He is not hurting anymore and is finally at peace. Mike will be missed by all.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
