KELLOGG — Kellogg High School’s athletics department will be hosting their ninth annual Kellogg Wildcat Kick-off Classic Golf Tournament and Dinner Auction fundraiser and is looking for registrations and donors.

The event is one of the school’s major fundraisers for the many different athletic programs that it offers to the students of the Kellogg School District, as well as many different programs that are available cooperatively to all of the students of Shoshone County.

“Proceeds from past tournaments have helped support officials for games, purchase new uniforms for the athletes, provided travel assistance for teams competing at state tournaments, and updating equipment,” said KHS athletic director Mike LaFountaine. “The proceeds from the tournament and auction will go to help support all Kellogg High School athletics.”

The event is scheduled for June 8, beginning with the 18-hole golf tournament (scramble format) at noon, and the dinner and auction following.

The dinner will be barbecue pulled pork with all the trimmings and will be served at 5 p.m. followed by the dinner and auction. There will be both silent auctions and a live auction.

The tournament will feature various contests within the scramble, several individual awards and prizes will be given out.

Anyone can participate in any of the events without having to participate in all of them, which is something LaFountaine wants to stress.

“Please come support Kellogg Wildcat athletics for the dinner and auction even if you do not play in the tournament, or vice versa,” LaFountaine said. “The event is open to everyone.”

Teams can sign up for the tournament by calling Kellogg High School at 208-784-1371 and at the Pinehurst Golf Course, if anyone would like a registration form, they can email mike.lafountaine@kelloggschools.org.
