Sally Ann (Rinaldi) Baumgardner
Sally passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family, on August 26th 2019.
Sally was born 03/04/1934 in Kellogg, Idaho to Mayo and Ann Rinaldi.
Attending Kellogg schools, she graduated from Kellogg High School in 1952. 1953-1957 were spent attending Eastern Washington State University and earning a degree in Education. She moved to the Wenatchee Valley in 1957 and began her teaching career in Wenatchee, Washington, later moving to Grant School in the Eastmont School District in 1966. During her first year in Wenatchee she met her husband to be, Oran (Bud) Baumgardner. The ceremony was held on August 20th, 1960 and they were married for 59 years at the time of her passing. She retired in 1993, after 36 years of teaching.
Sally, always accompanied by Bud, spent her years of retirement traveling with family and friends, taking multiple trips abroad and golfing thru many states and into Canada. Their winters were often spent “going south” to Palm Springs. Her time while at home was usually spent baking and sharing those baked goods with friends, family, and anyone she thought might enjoy them.
Sally loved and truly cherished her family and friends. If there was a function/celebration/get-together, her and Bud were always in attendance. She made a point to support their children and grandchildren in everything. If her grandchildren were competing, you’d be likely to find Sally rooting them on from the stands of a gymnasium or a fold-up chair at a trapshoot.
She is survived by her husband, Bud; two daughters, Tina Bernsen and husband Tony, and Beth Williams and husband Darin; brother, Donnie and wife Rosie; her four grandsons, Tyler Bernsen, Grant Williams and wife Cari, Garrett Williams, and Beau Bernsen; and her two great-grandchildren, Hudson and Paisley Williams.
At her request, no funeral will be held. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Sally’s family has requested that you donate to
