| December 2, 2019 2:59 PM

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all. Evelyn went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2019, at the age of 89. She was born on July 15, 1930 to William Truswell and Margret Crawford Truswell in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The family moved to Montana when she was ten years old.

Evelyn worked in her father’s pharmacy/drug store until her graduation from Sunburst High School. She enrolled in the nursing program at Montana State University where she met her husband, Robert Charles Whitesitt, in Chemistry Class. After graduating they were married on June 22, 1952, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Helena, Montana. As a registered nurse Evelyn worked in hospitals in Chicago and Salt Lake City. In 1956 she and her husband moved with their two infant daughters to Helena, Montana, for him to set up his medical practice. She selflessly supported her husband in his life work, and was a devoted mother to her six children. October 3, 2016 Evelyn joined her husband of 64 years at Good Samaritan. Now they are reunited in heaven.

Evelyn’s faith in Jesus, her Lord and Savior, permeated her life and relationships and caused her to be content in every situation of her life. Countless people were blessed through her kind, fun-loving, joyous, generous spirit and love for others. Some of her activities and interests included teacher and superintendent of Sunday School, camp nurse, 4H leader, and active member of AGLOW. Evelyn’s enjoyment of people and love of books made her job at Volume I Christian Bookstore ideal for her and a blessing to many.

Evelyn Whitesitt was survived by her six children: Margaret (Wade) Grandpre, Janet (Rolando) Solares, Rebecca Gregg, Andy (Michele) Whitesitt, Maureen (Roy) Bensch and Amy (Shannon) Sullivan; three sisters: Jeannette Bamford, Dorothy (Robert) Finley and Elizabeth (Jim) Staton; her brother-in-law, David Whitesitt, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life was held at Silver Wood Village Good Samaritan Society of Silverton, Idaho on November 30, 2019 at 2:30p.m. with Pastor Art Fleming officiating.
