Fallingwater honored
MULLAN — Mullan junior Talowa Fallingwater was named to the North Star All League Team for her work during the 2019 volleyball season.
Despite the season ending at the district tournament, Fallingwater doesn’t see the season as a let down in any way.
“I think we had a good season, we played pretty well all season long,” Fallingwater said. “Being able to make to districts and play in the tournament and not just loser-out play-in game was really big for us this season.”
Fallingwater is right on the money with her comments, her team not only qualified for the North Star League District Tournament without having to play into it, but also played in the district championship match before bowing out gracefully to Clark Fork.
Now, with a sturdy group of incoming freshmen and some serious experience, Fallingwater thinks next season could be even better for the Tigers.
Fallingwater attributes a lot of her success to coach Dawn McKinnon, who runs a tight ship, much to Fallingwater’s delight.
“She stays on us and keeps us disciplined,” Fallingwater said. “She can be kind of hard on us at times, but it made us better.”
“At the end of the season we had some attitude issues, but we were able to get them corrected and it really helped us at the end of the season.”
With McKinnon’s guidance and the leadership of a returning player like Talowa Fallingwater, it should only mean big things for the Tigers next year.
