KELLOGG — Shoshone Medical Center is again looking to fill a spot in its administrative office.

Recently the News-Press published a story concerning the hiring of SMC’s new Chief Executive Officer Paul Lewis and Chief Financial Officer Tim Powers, but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances Powers has resigned from his post as CFO.

The opening has prompted SMC to keep former CEO Jerry Brantz on as CFO in the interim.

“Jerry has graciously agreed to stay with us as we go into the next year,” Lewis said.

Brantz has been a key part of the growth and expansion that has happened at SMC over the past few years and his expertise has been key in the transition from him to Lewis.

“Jerry has done a great job here,” Lewis said. “In this job there is a lot of responsibility and everyone is required to wear a lot of different hats and he has done an exceptional job here.”

Anytime a change like this happens around the holidays, the best course of action usually entails waiting until the holiday season is over and SMC is no different.

“It’s not exactly a short process, but we’ll begin looking for a replacement as soon as we return from the holidays,” Lewis said. “The whole process could take right around three months.”

Not to fear however, Lewis is confident that between himself, Brantz and the staff at SMC, things should continue to progress as planned and that the extra time working with Brantz will be beneficial to him.

“We are in great shape here at SMC,” Lewis said. “We have a lot of great people working here and it’s really nice to have Jerry around to help me continue to transition into my new role.”
