Mark Alex Davis, 70

Mark Alex Davis, 70, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away December 27, 2018 at his store of Wallace. He was born January 22, 1948 in Washington.

Mark attended and graduated from the Lynnwood High School of Lynnwood, Washington. He moved to Wallace in 1991.

Mark was a professional gambler. He had also worked as a chef, serving companies building the Alaskan Pipeline for numerous years. Mark then purchased, owned and operated a trailer court near Geiger Field in Spokane, Washington for several years; after selling this business, he owned and operated a lawn care and snow plowing business also of Spokane. He began his antique interest and businesses in Reardan, Washington; after moving to Wallace, he opened an antique business in several locations in Wallace, finally locating in The Cobblestone (the old JC Penney building).

Mark loved playing cards. Mark could be quite difficult at times, but he had the uncanny ability to grow into people’s hearts. Wallace embraced him and he was proud to have Wallace as his home. Mark loved Christmas and wanted to make Christmas special to others.

Mark is survived by one son Chad (Sara) Davis of Alaska; four grandchildren Carmen, Traveus, Kalissa and Elise; his companion Lynn Spens of Spokane, Washington; his special friends Rayma and Donna of the Idaho Silver Shop, Max and Sheila of the Smokehouse and his antique buddies Dick Caron and Rich Asher. Mark’s special friends were his cats- Hand Ready and Vester (the real mayor of Wallace).

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace Elks; everyone is welcome.

It is suggested that memorials may be made to the Wallace Swimming Pool, c/o The City of Wallace, 703 Cedar Street, Wallace, Idaho 83873.
