Another Christmas dinner, another success

The Ecumenical Christmas Dinner committee wants to thank one and all for the tremendous success of spreading the cheer this season. We served more than 130 people.

All who attended enjoyed the wonderful dishes donated by our local churches. Participating this year, Church of God, United Church of Christ Congregational, United Methodist, Bethany Lutheran, Grace Evangelical, Emmanuel Lutheran, Silverton Community, St. Alphonsus Catholic and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.

The weather was mild, the conversation lively, the smiles contagious and the generosity overwhelming. There were several gifts drawn for including a beautiful wreath and three $25 food vouchers donated by Dave Smith Christmas Fund. This year our free will donations were given to Silver Valley Seniors Meals on Wheels program.

To all the volunteers of whom there are too many to mention by name, but spent many hours planning, shopping, preparing, food donations, serving and cleaning up, we humbly thank you. And to Brook’s Restaurant who cooked the turkeys for us, and Peggy White for the Dave Smith Christmas fund food vouchers. Harvest Foods and Steins Family Foods for participating in the program. Shoshone News-Press and Silver Valley Chambers for advertising the dinner.

Please forgive us if we have neglected to mention anyone.

A very Happy New Year to the Silver Valley.

See you next year. May God Bless you all.
