Edward ‘Ed’ John Christmann, 75

Beloved father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Edward “Ed” John Christmann, 75, of Post Falls, Idaho (formerly of the Silver Valley), passed away June 26, 2019, at the Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Baker, Mont. Ed was the son of Ernest and Rose (Hoffman) Christmann.

Ed moved to the Silver Valley in 1954 from Baker. He then moved to Post Falls with his wife, Sue, in 1996.

Ed married the love of his life, Sue Jenkins on July 8, 1963, in Wallace, Idaho. Sue passed away April 10, 2015.

Ed had served as the production and maintenance foreman for the Bunker Hill Mining Company; he had served his apprenticeship and two years of mechanical engineering through the Bunker Hill. Ed had also studied auto and diesel mechanics for three years. He had also served as production and maintenance foreman for the Nevada Gold Fields, Formosa Mine of Oregon, Greens Creek project in Juneau, Alaska, and the Dutch Mine of Grants Pass, Ore.

Ed had served on the Wardner City Council in Wardner, Idaho, for many years. He loved and enjoyed his family, fishing and gardening.

Ed is survived by two children, Tony Christmann of Post Falls, Idaho, and Angela Christmann (Lonney Straw) of Kellogg, Idaho; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; his mother, Rose Christmann of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; one brother, Ernest Christmann of Coeur d’Alene and one sister, Susan Selander of Coeur d’Alene. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his father; one son, Tracy Christmann; and his beloved wife, Sue.

Cremation will be held and upon Ed’s request no services will be held.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908; or to the Idaho Commission for the Blind, 341 W. Washington St., Boise, ID 83702.
