Mary J. Edwards Longley, 94

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, Mary J. Edwards Longley, 94, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2019 at her home of Wallace. She was born December 10, 1924 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Mary was the daughter of John and Yvonne (Mayer) Bell.

Mary moved to the Silver Valley in 1942 from Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Mary married John “Jack” Edwards on August 29, 1942 in Superior, Montana; Jack passed away June 30, 1991. She then married Charles “Chuck” Longley on September 15, 2001 in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Chuck passed away July 13, 2017.

Mary was a homemaker. She had also worked at the Shoshone County Nursing Home of Silverton, Fonks of Wallace and Tabors also of Wallace.

Mary was a member of the Wallace Ladies Bowling League. She loved and enjoyed her family, making trips to the Casinos, crocheting, garage sales and was an avid reader.

Mary is survived by two daughters Carol (Bob) McPhail of Osburn, Idaho; Sue (John) Hansen of Wallace; six grandchildren Leslie, Bonnie, Theresa, Kris, Ron and Jeff. Thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, one daughter Mary Ann and one great-grandson Brady McPhail.

Cremation will take place and private family services will be held.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Shoshone Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 884, Kellogg, Idaho 83837.

Mary was a wonderful mom and grandmother, she was so very much loved. And the machines at the casinos will greatly miss her.
