Durick elected as member- at-large director for IdASBO

KELLOGG — Right on the heels of their former transportation director receiving state recognition, Kellogg School District’s business manager has now done the same.

Sworn-in in late June, Angela Durick was elected as two-year, member-at-large director of the Idaho Association of Business Officials.

IdASBO provides professional development, networking, continuing education and legislative impact for the school business officials in the state of Idaho.

Durick, a Silver Valley native and KHS graduate, has severed as KSD’s business manager since 2018.

In this role, she has been responsible for advising the superintendent and school board on all matters pertaining to school finance and support operations to include levies, investments, bond activities forecasts and construction. She also prepares the annual operating budget, pertinent information for negotiations and oversees the audit.

Before her time with KSD, Durick has worked as the Chief Deputy Clerk for Shoshone County, the CFO assistant at Dave Smith Motors and a real estate broker.

She was initially considered for the member-at-large director position when she was nominated by her co-worker, Johanna Patton.

“I wanted the position because it is important to be at the forefront of the changes that are currently taking place with the Department of Education’s Funding Formula and legislation in the state of Idaho,” Durick said. “They are in the process of revamping the funding formula through legislation that will have a direct effect on our district’s revenue and budget, and I want to be educated and aware of what is transpiring, so I can provide guidance through the upcoming transitional period.”

With this new position, Durick will work to represent all IdASBO members in the state of Idaho through her active participation in strategic planning for the association. She will also serve as a liaison between members and the KSD School Board.  

“I’m extremely excited about this position and the opportunities that it will provide that will assist me in my duties as business manager, further serve my community and most importantly to do my part for the children that we are educating,” Durick said.
