A new home for Hope

KELLOGG — The Hope Pregnancy Resource Center has found its forever home and held a special ribbon cutting ceremony at its new location.

Site Director Lori Schoonmaker is excited to be in a location that will give the group more space than what they have had, but also gives them room to grow into what they hope to become.

“We are a ministry that tends to mothers who find out they are going to have a baby, but weren’t quite expecting it,” Schoonmaker said.

Serving all ages, the group’s goal is to present expecting mothers with their options and then walk them through what each option entails.

“They have three options when they find out they’re pregnant,” Schoonmaker said. “They can have their baby and care for it, they can choose an adoption plan, or they can choose to have an abortion. All three of those are things that we talk about because we want them to know what the process would be.”

Aside from guiding mothers through their pregnancy choices, Hope PRC also offers a myriad of educational opportunities for families, including development (both pre and post natal), newborn care and parenting.

They also offer free pregnancy tests, as well as providing maternity clothes, and baby clothes and items for families in need.

After spending several years in a smaller office space, the new building offers growth opportunities that Schoonmaker is looking forward to.

“Eventually we want to have medical available,” Schoonmaker said. “We would like to have an ultrasound technician, nurse and a doctor on board with us.”

Hope Pregnancy Resource Center is located at 404 Cameron Ave., Kellogg, and are open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (Mondays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).

They can be reached on Facebook or by phone at 208-784-0333.
