Carmine Joseph Cartonio, 70

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Carmine Joseph Cartonio, 70, of Wallace, Idaho, passed away June 10, 2019 with his wife by his side at the Schneidmiller House of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born March 31, 1949 in Augusta, Maine; Carmine was the son of Raffaele and Marguerite (Bolduc) Cartonio.

Carmine spent his childhood in Maine where he attended and graduated high school. He later moved west to California and went to work for Loomis Armored Truck as a driver. He was later transferred to Spokane Valley where he worked until his retirement.

In his free time, Carmine loved being in the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and camping on the St. Joe River. He also enjoyed traveling in the motor home.

On December 28, 1996 Carmine was united in marriage to Sandy Shearer at the Hitching Post in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.

Carmine is survived by his beloved wife Sandy Cartonio of Wallace; Eight Children, numerous grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his mother Marguerite Cartonio. He is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Carmine was preceded in death by his father Raffaele.

Sandy would like to extend a special thanks to The Schneidmiller House for the love and care they provided Carmine in his final days.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of Carmine’s life will be held at a later date.
