Douglas “Bud” G. Greer, Jr., 44, of Kingston, Idaho, passed away June 6, 2019 at the Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, from injuries he sustained from an ATV accident in Chistochina, where he worked for Cruz Construction.

Bud was born October 12, 1974 in Fort Ord, California to Julie C. Hei and Douglas G. Greer, Sr. and was raised by his mother and his “POPS” Harold “Sonny” Murchison.

Bud’s early years were spent in Germany and Pinehurst, Idaho; he then moved to Ketchikan, Alaska but returned to Idaho to live with his Aunt Patti Hei and family until his graduation in 1995 from Kellogg High School. After graduation he moved back to Ketchikan to work for the LP Pulp Mill until its closure, where at that time he moved to Nevada and worked as a miner, as well as, in Montana. Later he went to work through the United Laborers Union and spent quite a bit of time working in the Prudhoe Bay oil fields. Lastly he worked for Cruz Construction, drilling and blasting for this company.

Bud is survived by one daughter Kirstin Porter and one son Bear Greer; his mother Julie C. Murchison of Pinehurst, Idaho; one sister Deena (Gunnar) Bergstrom of Soldotna, Alaska; one brother Vincent W. Greer of Pinehurst; maternal grandmother Clarabel Hei of Pinehurst; his aunt Patti J. Hei and Rod Plank; his uncles Gregory (Channa) Hei, Michael J. (Colleen Wendy) Hei and Thomas W. (DeAnn) Hei; his niece Adriane Poulin; nephew Michael Greer and many cousins. Bud was preceded in death by his “POPS” Harold “Sonny” Murchison, his maternal grandfather William D. Hei, his cousin Jennifer M. Mitchell (whom was like a sister to him) and Pat and Snip Murchison.

Bud was the life of the party; you could find him joking and playing pranks on family members and those he knew; he had an infectious laugh. Bud touched all of our lives and though he is gone he will never be forgotten by his beloved family and friends.
