WALLACE — A new doughnut and coffee shop in Wallace has the town buzzing … and not just because of the caffeine.

Glazed and Confused opened less than a month ago and so far has been received well by the community.

Mother and daughter duo Cindy Temby and Kourtney Cook saw an opportunity and pounced on it, combining Cook’s years of kitchen experience and Temby’s business knowledge, they have created some pretty sweet (pun absolutely intended) results.

“We knew we wanted to start a coffee shop,” Cook said. “We ended up doing coffee and doughnuts. We also have some other cold drinks as well.”

Housed inside an old antique bus, the shop has an aesthetic that already fits Wallace to a tee and has a quality product to boot.

The doughnuts are simple in design, but they are the result of Cook’s meticulous planning and strict recipe following to make sure that it hits the perfect consistency for proper cooking while holding that classic “o” shape.

Thus far the shop has fared well in garnering foot traffic through some local promotion and word of mouth, but they hope to really get rolling once the slate of annual Wallace festivals gets going.

“We definitely are going to make sure that we have special hours during those events, as well as some event themed specials,” Temby said. “Right now our customers are coming sporadically, but when it’s a busy day, it’s steady.”

Right now the shop offers plain, glazed, chocolate and maple doughnuts, but will have specials available soon.

The doughnuts can be bought individually, or they have deals on half/full dozen.

Located at 207 Fifth St. in Wallace, Glazed and Confused is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
