Pinehurst library is No. 1!
I am writing to praise the Pinehurst library for excellent service it provides our communities.
Years ago, I had served on the Library Board at the library, and I have been proud to have seen this small town library improve and grow with the years, and see it become a shining light for the community as it became part of the North Idaho Community Library Network.
It provides a “no fines, no frowns, no fuss!” service, with easy renewals.
If I see a book on television or in a newspaper or magazine that I’d like, the librarian has it in my hands within a day or two.
The library even duplicates crossword puzzles and word jumbles from the Spokesman-Review and lays them for us to choose and take home for leisure pastime use.
A vast assortment of books, audio and music CDs, magazines, DVDs, video games and up-to-date computers for use. I marvel at the consistent traffic of citizens availing themselves of this superlative tax-supported institution. Comparing this small library to the large neighboring library such as Coeur d’Alene, the only real difference is in space. The service is as good if not better. It serves Cataldo, Kingston, Pinehurst, Smelterville, Pritchard and Murray, and the rural residents of the surrounding Coeur d’Alene River and mountains.
I sincerely think our Pinehurst library is deserving of any award, and would love to see it named “Library of the Year.”
