KELLOGG — Almost 80 years after it first opened its doors to the Silver Valley, the uptown Kellogg branch of US Bank is set to close its doors this summer.

Customers of the branch were notified of the closure last week when they received a letter from US Bank regional leader Linda Underwood.

In it, she explains that the location at 7 McKinley Avenue will close on June 25 in an effort to consolidate some of their physical locations.

“We understand that closing a branch could be an inconvenience, but we are dedicated to providing you with best-in-class service,” she said.

She adds that the change will not affect accounts and there will be no interruption of services.

Customers of the Kellogg branch are encouraged to make use of the other local US Bank location at 1 Country Club Lane in Pinehurst.

US Bank public affairs vice president Evan Lapiska told the News-Press that the Kellogg branch has been around since 1940 and will be marketed for sale following the closure.

“We have been proud to serve Kellogg through our Kellogg branch,” he said.

“This was a difficult decision and not one taken lightly. We understand that the closure of our branch is a disruption for our customers and our employees and we are working to make the transition as smooth as possible for all involved. We appreciate the business of our customers and the service of our employees and will continue to be a part of the community through our other area locations.”

Lapiska did not comment on how the Kellogg closure would affect its current employees.
