Sandra Kay Madsen, 78

Sandra Kay Madsen, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2019, at the Strand Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn, South Dakota. She was born March 19, 1941 to Allen and Opal Fuller in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sandra grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended public school. Sandra was a spunky, hard-working mother of 5, diligently sewing clothes for her children, and putting food on the table. Sandra resided at 503 West Fork Pinecreek Road, Pinehurst, Idaho with her husband Eugene Madsen and her children: Bob Madsen, Becky (Madsen) Nordquist, Billy Madsen, Henry Madsen, and Peter Madsen before they moved to Wilmot, South Dakota in 1977. She remained in Eden, South Dakota till the time of her death.

Sandra loved animals of all kinds, by taking in many stray cats, dogs, an owl, and even had a pet pig.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Opal Fuller; her husband Eugene Madsen and his parents, Josephine and George of Wilmot, South Dakota, her brother, Gary Fuller and her sister Karen Gordon. Survivors include her sister, Linda (Fuller) Ossman and her husband Doss Ossman; her children, along with their spouses, Verlene, and Jan; grandchildren; Kent Madsen, Rusty Jo Madsen, Jacob Nordquist, Ashlee Nordquist, Amber Nordquist, Chad Madsen, Sharee Madsen, Krysta (Madsen) Laffoon, Casey Madsen, Alex Madsen, Kaitlyn Madsen, Heather (Madsen) Castro, Jerod Madsen, Donnie Madsen, Jesse Madsen and their spouses, and 18 great grandchildren.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday March 31, 2019 at the Pinecreek Tavern in Pinehurst, Idaho. Further, a “Celebration of Life” will be held in Eden, South Dakota tentatively the weekend of May 27, 2019 (location and time to be determined).
