KPD Roll Call: April 23-30

•Probie is heading to POST Sunday. So, if you see him between now and then, wish him luck.

•School patrol.

•Watched the cluster at the Bunker Ave overpass construction (exit 49) during the school morning rush.

•County assist on the Rails to Trails. Report of someone on Rollerblade’s with a bat near Elizabeth park threatening people. Cleared, unable to locate.

•Abandoned vehicle paper work.

•Dispatched to the intersection W. Riverside & W. Cameron Ave. for a vehicle accident. Upon arriving on-scene, K77 discovered it was a vehicle vs. skateboarder. Individual was taken to SMC by family a member and a report was created. Follow up to continue.

•Traffic complaint on S Division. Unable To Locate (UTL).

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Evidence work/return property.

•Blight reported 300 block of Ohio- 10 notice to abate was issued to property owner/resident that stated they were getting the items out of the yard this weekend. Would have been taken care of last weekend, but vehicle issues ensued. Still gave out the notice and took photos. Will follow-up on this next week.

•Dogs running at large 500 block of McKinley. Contacted owners that were moving property inside the building and left the gate/fence open. Dogs were corralled inside the fence without issue.

•Parking issue 900 block of S. Division in Wardner. Construction crew parked in yellow (in fairness, they had that portion of the road blocked with a cement truck for most of the day). Advised to park across the street and this was done without issue. Verbal warning given.

•Juvenile runaway 100 block W. Riverside. While taking initial information, juvenile returned and was spoken to. Spoke with parents regarding next/further steps for Runaway/Beyond Control and information report generated for documentation. Report taken.

•Disturbing the peace 100 block of Legion. Shared wall that one side was hanging up items, victim did not want to sign citation, advised they could go that route if it continues. Spoke with other side and explained the same to them. Peace restored.

•Dog found running at large. Taken to the pound for the county, dog was located in Pinehurst and no Pinehurst unit on. Dog was brought in by citizen to Kellogg Pet Medical Center to see if it was chipped- it was not. Advised the West End unit this would be a county dog.

•Civil paper service 900 block W. Park. Paper served.

•Landline contact regarding persons that lost dogs in the Wardner area. Will keep an eye out for the dogs.

•Called to the 100 block of Legion Ave for a domestic, no domestic or fighting occurred. Cleared, Necessary Action Taken (NAT).

•ATL for possible party up Wardner, was unable to locate.

•Advised of juvenile car prowlers, when RP said they were calling the police they ran way, could not locate them in the area-Cleared UTL.

•Release dog from pound to owner.

•Possible overdose 300 block of Maple. Medical assist, received found narcotic property for destruction.

•Report of stolen vehicle 100 block of E. Portland. Report taken, vehicle entered NCIC.

•Report of hit and run 49 overpass in the construction zone. Construction truck vs construction truck. All parties contacted and non-re-portable (under $1500). Report generated for information.

•Several landline requests at KPD.

•Follow-up on abandoned vehicle up Deadwood Gulch, spoke with owners and making arrangements to meet and retrieve vehicle tomorrow.

•Report of several abandoned vehicle at Silver Mountain, majority of vehicles belong to resident at the apartments, advised to contact business office for arrangements on removal of vehicles. One of the vehicles reported behind the water park could not be located.

•Attempted paper service 400 block of W. Mullan, negative contact at.

•Assist county/ISP with crash at 48 (traffic control briefly prior to finding out vehicle was off the road and no blockage).

•Possible domestic 100 block of Legion, nothing domestic related, neighbors calling in for disturbing the peace, but none of them wish to sign citation at this time. Unfounded.

•Possible structure fire in the Emerald sub-division, no structure fire, wood burning on the dike road next to the river that was attended, but creating a lot of smoke. Unfounded.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg and Wardner.

•Reports/ evidence.

•Abandoned vehicle on Sierra Nevada Road in Wardner, this is the vehicle that was previously up Deadwood Gulch. Owners coming to pick up today. Owners could not make it today, tagged for 48-hour removal, call to pop-up 4-30-19 at 1000. Top of Sierra Nevada in the turnout in Wardner.

•Civil Paper service, attempt x1.

•Found property at Silver Mountain, report created items entered for destruction.

•Citizen contact at KPD reference missing dog, no dogs have been turned in or called in.

•Extra patrols at Mountain, view park.

•Citizen contact with a male near Silver Valley tire reference a current case. Cleared report taken.

•Called to the 100 block Jones for a report of a burglary. Report taken.

•Assisted K74 with stolen vehicle case. Contact was made and he was advised.

•Follow up on other cases.

•Patrolled requested extra patrol areas.

•Assisted ISP on traffic stop at 200 block W. Cameron. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Citizen Contact at the Silver Mountain Parking lot for curfew. Subjects were advised to head directly home. Cleared, verbal warning.

•Suspicious Circumstance at the Silver Mountain Apartments. Two individuals were arguing in their car after being kicked out of a family member’s home. Courtesy transport was provided to a hotel. Cleared, peace restored.

•Reported person starting fires on the side of the road 3000 block of McKinley/Government Gulch. At the same time, citizen came to KPD to report the same subject. While responding, flagged down by persons stating the subject was in Smelterville. Contacted male subject in front of Kellogg Plastics and identified. Fire responded and spoke with subject that stated he did start fires up Government Gulch area to stay warm and work on his wood-working projects (several burnt tree limbs and carving materials with him). Area described was NOT in Kellogg and Deputy arrived on-scene and took over. Turned over to county.

•Found dog 400 block of W. Brown, recovered dog and placed in pound. Owners contacted 20 minutes later as they were looking for the dog. Dog re-united with owner and no charge as K74 had not cleared the area...there was mighty amount of hair inside the vehicle.

•Report of person down on the bike path between 51 and 52, checked Kellogg area bike path, unable to locate.

•Handled a landline request regarding property damage.

•Dispatched to McDonald’s for an unwanted subject. Subject left the scene prior to my arrival, but K77 located him down the street a short time later. Gentleman was passing through town and got into an argument with Mickie D’s staff. Told him to be polite while he was in town which he agreed to do so.

•Assisted county with a warrant service on the 400 block of Bunker Ave.

•Responded to the 300 block of S. Division for an unwanted subject. Individual wasn’t causing a nuisance other than panhandling when they were not in need and just wanted free gas & money. Individual was cited for city ordinance violation due to prior warnings from KPD and citations by others. Just as K77 showed up, a female arrived on scene with the panhandler gas can which had been filled up. When K77 told the lady that the panhandler was not stranded and did this to get free gas, she had some words for said panhandler that were not so friendly.

•Assisted K72 with a disturbance on the 300 block of W. Cameron Ave.

•Unwanted Subject at the 300 block of W. Cameron Ave. One individual was notified that they were trespassed from the property at the request of the complainant.

•Traffic Stop on the 100 block of E. Portland for stop sign violation. Cleared Verbal.

•Traffic stop on the 100 block of W. Riverside for stop sign violation. Cleared Verbal.

•Evidence work/released property.

•School patrol.

•Wardner patrol.

•Checked on abandoned vehicle Wardner (yup, still there). Due for tow on 04-30.

•Assist County/ISP with rollover crash MP 52.

•Dispatched to a brush fire on Upper 3rd St. Fire was eventually put out by District 2 fire & Land Management. Investigation is still on-going.

•Conducted follow-up on my pending cases.

•Citizen contact on the 300 block of Mullan Ave. Individual wanted to ask questions about a prior case.

•Traffic Stop on the I-90 Frontage Rd. Cleared Verbal.

•Traffic Stop at the 10 block of N Hill St. Cleared Verbal.

•Responded to a report of a structure fire at the 600 block of Upper 3rd St. Upon arrival, the occupants were standing around a propane heater inside the home that appeared to be a significant hazard. The Fire Department came and spoke with the individuals. Cleared, other agency assist.

•School patrol.

•Ran abandoned paper work to Nickerson’s.

•Wardner patrol.

•Assist IDL with checking on Browns Ranch/3rd St fire from 04-29.

•Dispatched to 314 upper third for a father and son dispute. Son took the high road and left the residents. Only to come back later and cause more issues.

•Dispatched to Health & Welfare’s office on Wildcat Way for a panic alarm. Upon arrival, K77 discovered no one was in trouble but they was concern about an individual’s well-being who was there. Transported said individual to their residence and they were taken to SMC by family members.

•Served civil papers.

•Handled a land line request regarding custodial interference.

•Dispatched to SMC for an out of control patient. Peace was restored a short time later.

•Patrolled Kellogg & Wardner.

•Assisted K77 with an uncooperative subject at Shoshone Medical Center. Cleared agency assist.

•Traffic stop at milepost 51 Eastbound on-ramp. Cleared verbal.

•Attempted Warrant service. Cleared negative contact.

•Assisted county on a traffic stop. Cleared other agency assist.
