Silver Valley sports recap: April 22-28
Kellogg Golf
BLANCHARD — Kellogg’s Taylor Bush (79) and Kat Rauenhorst (87) earned medalist honors at an Intermountain League match on April 23 at StoneRidge Golf Course.
The match, previously scheduled for Twin Lakes Village, was moved due to snow on the course.
“The weather cooperated again, and under overcast skies and gusty winds we went to work,” coach Simon Miller said. “Putting was definitely a challenge for everyone, as the Stoneridge greens took some substantial winter abuse, making them incredibly inconsistent and tough to read, but this can be expected in early season conditions.”
Miller was thrilled with how his balanced girls team played despite the tough conditions.
“Kat Rauenhorst fought off some mid round frustrations and errant shots to still manage a couple birdies on her way to an 87, good enough for first place, once again,” Miller said. “Freshman Alyssa Milliron battled through some illness, on her way to a career best 97, good enough for a second place finish.”
Kellogg won both team titles, followed by Timberlake.
