Work on the City of Kellogg’s Sewer Rehabilitation and Replacement Project continues.

Big Sky Development, the contractor for Phase III of the project is installing manholes on West Portland Ave. and preparing to lay mainline sewer in this area over the next couple of weeks. Local residents, as well as police and fire have been notified in an effort to coordinate access issues.

Big Sky has a road crew working on West Park Ave. When work on West Park is completed, they will move to Teddy Ave. Work in these areas is expected to take the better part of two weeks.

Knife River, the contractor for work north of I-90 in the Sunnyside Addition continues with a crew installing water services on East Cameron Ave. Service work is expected to be finished sometime next week.

Knife River’s road crews are busy finishing up work in the area of North Hill Street, Vergobbi Ave., North Street, Elder Ave. and Helen Street in preparation for paving in early June. Sidewalk and curb work is being done throughout these same areas prior to paving. A cleanup crew is following all work crews dealing with issues as they arise.

Construction near you will occur over a number of days so plan accordingly. Work will begin at 7:00 AM and depending on what needs to be done to meet construction schedules, may occur on Saturdays.

Please be safe. Obey road closure signs and drive carefully around and through construction zones. Allow extra time for commuting and watch out for heavy equipment moving throughout the area, operators may not be able to see you.

Parents are asked to remind their children to avoid active construction zones and to not play on material piles placed throughout the area. Everyone needs to be constantly aware of heavy equipment and understand that operators struggle with blind spots that make it difficult to see people, pets and traffic moving throughout the site.
