| November 1, 2019 1:47 PM

Marcy Hayman, 55, is seeking election to the position of Osburn City Council (4-year term).

Hayman is running alongside Laurie (Gray) Richardson for two open seats on the Osburn City Council.

Hayman doesn’t boast any former political experience, but has been incredibly active civically throughout her life.

She currently holds offices, directorships, or presidency in the following organizations: SMC Foundation-Secretary Treasurer; Wallace District Arts Council President; Friends of Sather field Director; TEAM Wallace Director/Coordinator; WHS Students in Transition Program — Coordinator; WHS All Class Reunion President; Slippery Gulch Association Director and is a member of Cornerstone Church in Osburn.

Hayman has also started and operated many businesses in the community. I currently am the owner/operator of Loving Care & More, Mike's Specialty Welding and Hayman/Hull Properties and Hayman/Maravilla properties, Inc.

Hayman has been married for 30 years and has two adult children and one grandchild.

She is a proponent of “working smarter, not harder to make Osburn a better place.”

In 2009 Hayman was named Citizen of the year for Wallace Chamber of Commerce; and Wallace ELKS BPOE Citizen of the Year.

“I am a founding member of many of those organizations listed above and I am proud to say that each and everyone of those has profited under my partial involvement and continue to provide services to the greater Wallace/Osburn community,” Hayman said.

As for key issues, she believes that proper utilization of the city’s tax dollars is vital.

“The tax base that we currently place on our taxpayers, no one likes to pay taxes although it’s necessary,” Hayman said. “How we spend that money is crucial to the ongoing existence of our city.”
