| November 1, 2019 2:37 PM

Brent Alan Briggs, is running for Pinehurst City Council (2-year term).

Briggs is running against incumbent Debbie Marek and Rick Fuller for the open seat.

He has an extensive background in forestry, which began with him receiving a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Forest Resource Management from the University of Idaho.

Briggs worked for the United States Forest Service for 39 years, including working on fires, timber sales preparation and engineering.

He has been married for 26 years and has three grown children who all live in the Moscow/Pullman area.

As a longtime resident of Pinehurst, Briggs would like to make responsible spending a priority for the community.

“If elected I would like to see tax dollars used in an efficient manner,” Briggs said.

This ties directly in with what he believes are the key issues for Pinehurst.

“Spending tax dollars, upkeep of roads, parks, and other city assets are the key issues,” Briggs said.

In 2014, Briggs was selected as the Engineering Technician of the Year for the USFS Region 1.
