Pinehurst City Council Larry Yergler
Larry Yergler is seeking re-election for Pinehurst City Council (4-year term).
Yergler is running against fellow incumbent Lynn Enquist as well as challengers Jeff Lambert and Darren Hei for one of two open seats.
Yergler graduated from Kellogg High School in 1966 and received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education from the University of Idaho in 1976.
He and his wife Linda have lived in Pinehurst for over 30 years and have two adult children and two grandchildren.
Yergler’s experience in local government is vast and includes Pinehurst Planning & Zoning from 1988-2009; Shoshone County Commissioner 2010-2014 (Chairman 2013-2014), District Magistrate Commission 2013-2014, Shoshone County EMS Board, Basin Environmental Improvement Commission 2013-2014, Community Forest Coalition 2010-2014 and Pinehurst City Council since September 2018.
Yergler’s priorities if re-elected are focused on protecting the citizens of Pinehurst in many aspects.
“I believe that a Councilman should be a servant to the People striving to ensure that taxes are only to provide funds to run the essential services of the City,” Yergler said. “I will work to protect your property rights and work hard to minimize government regulations in the lives of Pinehurst residents. I believe that as a councilman my primary goal should be to serve our citizens while maintaining an open door policy to all residents.”
While serving as County Commissioner Yergler was responsible for securing grant funds to establish the Silver Express Bus System which now runs through the Silver Valley and has also been a representative of the county which established the current EMS system.
Yergler is a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the National Ski Patrol at both Silver Mountain and Lookout Pass, Shoshone County Search & Rescue more than 20 Years, Pinehurst-Kingston Lions, Coached youth Basketball/Flag Football, Little League & Babe Ruth Baseball.
Yergler’s key issues for this position are balancing the budget while providing essential services to city residents, keeping the taxes at a minimum, developing positive growth of Pinehurst through future planning, and most importantly minimizing government regulations in the lives of our citizens.
