Wallace City Council Candidate: David DeRoos
David DeRoos, 75, is running for Position No. 1 of the Wallace City Council and, if elected, he promises to make himself available to listen to the concerns and suggestions of the residents of Wallace.
He is running against Jonathan Ruggles for the position.
DeRoos’ education includes graduating from Wallace High School in 1962.
He has been married to Bonnie DeRoos for 27 years.
In regard to relevant experience, DeRoos built and operated the Silver Streak Zipline Tours for eight years. He is also a board member of the Wallace District Mining Museum, board member of the Wallace Slippery Gulch Committee, former District Governor of the Wallace Gyro Club and a current member of the Wallace Elks.
As a longtime resident of the town, DeRoos says he is “passionate about Wallace and the direction it is going toward.”
Specific issues he wants to address include revitalizing the Wallace Swimming Pool and the reconstruction of the Sixth Street bridge.
