Wallace School District Trustee Anna Berger

| November 1, 2019 2:11 PM

Anna Berger is seeking re-election to the position of trustee for Wallace School District #393 Zone 3.

Berger is running against challengers James McMillan and Sam Lavigne.

Berger is seeking her second term as a member of the WSD School Board and believes educating not only the students, but the general public as to the workings of the district to be among the key issues facing the board.

“We are accountable to the public for the spending of funds as well as the decisions we make,” Berger said. “I feel we could do a better job and relaying that information to the public.”

She is Wallace High School graduate and attended North Idaho College’s WorkForce Training Program for Dental Assistant.

Berger has been married for 21 years and has one adult child, and is a business owner in Wallace which she believes gives her an advantage while working with the District.

But she also feels her best work is done outside of the public eye.

“I raised a daughter in the Wallace District and being a business owner I feel I have an insight to the business workings of the District as well,” Berger said. “Mark and I were named Citizens of the Year by the Wallace Chamber a few years ago. A great honor but way out of our comfort zone, we tend to be behind the scenes people.”

Berger hopes to continue to help maintain the financial integrity of the District as well as the great education they provide their students.
