JoAnn Stepro Chilson September 7, 1950-October 20, 2019

Our beloved mother, JoAnn Stepro Chilson of Winnemucca, NV passed away October 20th in Reno, NV due to complications of a stroke.

JoAnn was born in Wallace, Idaho in 1950 to Fred and Jessie Mae Stepro, the third of four children. She was raised in Burke, ID and was preceded in death by her father, mother, and husband David.

JoAnn graduated from Wallace High School in 1969 and loved living in the Silver Valley. In 1976, JoAnn reunited with the love of her life and best friend David “Chili” Chilson, and they spent the next 35 years raising a family and enjoying each other’s company.

JoAnn worked many jobs throughout her time living in the Silver Valley, but her primary focus was raising her children. In 1995, she and David moved to Winnemucca and lived there until the time of each of their passing.

JoAnn is survived by her siblings, including sister Mary Robinson of Marysville, WA, Fred Stepro of Burke, ID, Dale Stepro of Mullan, ID. Her children include Karrie & Chance Garcia of Winnemucca, NV, Fredrick & Megan Chilson of Dillon, MT, Mary & Larry Dow of Winnemucca, NV. Her grandchildren include Gabriel Chilson, Kristine Garcia, Jayden Chilson, Luke Dow, and Averie Dow.

There will be no services held at this time, as a “Celebration of Life” will occur the summer of 2020.
