Ardis Adele Fretheim Marmon

Ardis Adele Fretheim Marmon died November 2, 2019 at her residents in Garden Plaza, Post Falls, Idaho with family at her side.

She was born February 15, 1937 in Stanley, North Dakota, the eldest daughter of Howard Fretheim and Alice Hiatt Fretheim.

In 1955, Ardis graduated valedictorian of her class in Ross, North Dakota. After a lengthy break in her formal education, Mrs. Marmon graduated on the dean’s list from Lewis & Clark State College with a Bachelor of Science in Small Business Administration in 1989.

During that break, Ardis moved to the Silver Valley where she met and married Eugene (Jeff) Marmon. They resided on the North Fork of the CDA River for many of those years. Jeff preceded Ardis in death in 2000, shortly after they celebrated their fortieth anniversary.

Ardis is survived by her and Jeff’s children, son Pat Marmon and wife Patricia of Dixon, Montana, daughter Candy Bailey and husband Duane of Santa, Idaho, daughter Joy Relton and husband Garry of Sun City Center, Florida, and son Guy Marmon of Spokane, Washington,. In addition, Ardis had nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Ardis is also survived by sister Phyllis Vachal and husband Larry of Portland Oregon, along with lots and lots of nieces and nephews.

For many years she worked at the Shoshone Forest Service and then went to work for State of Idaho, Department of Health and Welfare where she eventually retired from.

In her more than sixty-year residency in the Silver Valley, Ardis was involved in many community and school activities. Her most recent activities included membership at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Pinehurst, Shoshone chapter #10 Eastern Star, the Osburn VFW and The Red Hat Society

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held in April 2020.
