You have spoken, we listened

The Shoshone News-Press has gone through several changes over the past couple years in an effort to better serve you, our readers. Many of these changes have been met with incredibly positive feedback and others not so much.

We at the News-Press hear both and are appreciative of both, as consistent feedback allows us to improve our product and give the community the news it wants.

With the recent completion of our readership survey, we are now ready to announce even more changes that we know you will be excited about.

Effective Nov. 1, the Shoshone News-Press will once again be offering carrier delivery of our print product to the residents of the Silver Valley who reside in incorporated towns. This will include the cities of Pinehurst, Smelterville, Kellogg, Osburn, Silverton, Wallace and Mullan.

The News-Press will also be taking a page from our predecessor, the Kellogg Evening News, and switch to a nostalgic afternoon delivery. Our publishing frequency will remain at two days, but will shift to Tuesday and Friday.

This revitalization will allow us to deliver relevant news in a timely manner and offer job opportunities to youth and adults alike in the various incorporated towns we will serve.

To commemorate this big news, the News-Press will also be updating the layout of our print product to be more modern, colorful and streamlined.

Our logo will be given a new, retro-inspired theme that takes classic inspiration from our 1990s editions. This new logo will even be stylishly featured on apparel such as hats and T-shirts.

To top all of this off, Silver Valley News-Press subscribers who live in the aforementioned incorporated cities will receive a gift from the publisher, which includes a complimentary Tuesday and Friday edition of the Coeur d’Alene Press.

While we celebrate the return of “old school” carrier delivery with our print product, we will also continue to deliver our content digitally through various platforms such as desktops, tablets and mobile devices. Speaking of mobile devices, our new mobile application, SHO News, is now available for download. This app allows our subscribers to have full access to all of our content with a tap of their finger.

In addition to our normal content, the new app includes easy access to our weekly podcast — SNP Now. Managing Editor Chanse Watson and Staff Reporter Josh McDonald share highlights of stories from the SNP, talk about regional topics and conduct special guest interviews in each episode of the podcast. SNP NOW can be found at www.shoshonenewspress.com or your favorite pod catcher.

All of us here at the News-Press are incredibly excited to be making these changes and will continue to work hard to bring you the content you deserve through all of our media platforms.
