| October 7, 2019 2:21 PM

Eddie John Quimby of Absarokee, MT. passed away on September 21, 2019. Ed was born on March 4, 1953 in Kellogg ID. to Lawrence and Gladys (Busby) Quimby.

Eddies’ career began at an early age. From taking care of his father, whom he loved dearly, in his final days. Then taking on what would later become the family business in underground mining.

Later on Ed met and married his wife Bonnie (Langer) in Halfway,OR. Ed was then blessed with a son and one along the way when he moved his small but growing family to Stillwater County, MT. Where he was employed at the Stillwater Mine for the next 20 years. Once Ed’s boys were old enough to work they began their mining careers. So began their journey together that would take them to numerous states. All the while Ed was teaching and leaving a legacy with his boys and the mining community. Not only did his wisdom and courage inspire the ones he met and taught through the years. Ed was a man of many things, one such thing was that he believed the best in a person and brought forth and refined talent that nobody else saw.

Ed was a beloved grandfather who loved his four grandchildren profoundly. They will forever remember all the fishing and hunting trips that were always full of learning experiences. This was due to Ed’s belief that so many of life’s lessons could be solved with fishing.

Ed was loved and respected by many and he will be missed dearly.
