KELLOGG — It’s Halloween time and Silver Mountain wants to give its community a scary good time this year.

Silver Mountain will be hosting a trunk-or-treat event along with the Kellogg Police Department this Halloween that is free and open to the community.

Trunk-or-treat events are rapidly growing in popularity as a fun and more safe way for kids to experience Halloween.

Instead of the traditional door-to-door style trick-or-treat, this gives families a centralized location to get their candy.

And it’s not just fun for the kids, candy givers get to decorate their cars for the kids to visit, which really condenses the Halloween experience into something that everyone can see and experience.

For Silver Mountain, the key really is the safety aspect though.

“This event is great for the community because it provides a safe place for families to celebrate Halloween,” said Gus Colburn, Silver Mountain marketing coordinator. “Parents can be at ease because their kids aren’t running in the dark streets and kids are happy because they can dress up and get a bunch of candy all in one spot.”

Silver Mountain has been very active in the community over the years and this is just another example of it doing something special for its home community.

“We take pride in our community and want what is best for the Silver Valley and its citizens,” Colburn said. “Since we are in hospitality, we plan a lot of events for visitors, so events like this and our Locals Ride Free Day are important because we can show love back to this community that supports us.”

Silver Mountain’s Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat will be from 6-7 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Silver Mountain parking lot.

Come in costume and bring a container that holds lots of candy.

Anyone who would like to decorate their car and hand out candy should call 208-659-6372 and ask for Veronica.
