Deary man killed in crash on Highway 3

CLARKIA – Idaho State Police reports that a Deary, Idaho man was killed in a vehicle crash Sunday night in the southern region of Shoshone County.

On Oct. 27 at approximately 4:14 p.m., Bruce E. Bogar, 63, was driving a red 1994 Subaru Justy southbound on State Highway 3 when he crossed over the center line and exited the roadway on the east shoulder at milepost 50 (four miles south of Clarkia, Idaho). The vehicle traveled approximately 596 feet down the embankment before coming to rest.

Multiple agencies, in addition to ISP, responded to the incident including the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office and Latah County EMS.

Bogar was pronounced deceased at the scene and he was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.

Next of kin was notified that night and an investigation to determine the cause of the incident is ongoing.
