KPD Roll Call: April 8-15

•Gas leak on Upper 3rd street. Closed off Upper 3rd at S Division till line was fixed.

•No zombies and it’s sunny, I’m going home early.

•Assisted Fire with a natural gas line leak at the 700 block of Upper 3rd. Cleared, other agency assist.

•Conducted follow-up throughout the day on a burglary case.

•Dispatched to a suspicious person watching children at the 100 block of W. Riverside Ave. Cleared, unfounded.

•Dispatched to a theft at the 10 block of E. Cameron Ave. The investigation is ongoing. Cleared, report taken.

•Assisted county with locating an individual in Kellogg on Howard St. for their investigation which took place in Pinehurst.

•Assisted K75 with a citizen contact at the City Pool parking lot. Individual was parked there sleeping after hours and K76 got them moving along.

•Conducted foot patrol on Bunker Avenue & Main Street.

•The other Dave is doing pretty good. He did well at the range and now can handcuff someone. We might let him drive soon.

•Assisted county in locating a suspect in a battery, K76 was able to locate the subject in the 200 block of Elder Ave. Cleared assist.

•Took a telephonic harassment/stalking report at the 100 block of Main St. Also conducted follow-up with the suspect and Pinehurst PD, who was investigating a related case. Cleared, eeport taken.

•Conducted an interview at the Police Department related to a theft that occurred yesterday

•Received a landline from the front office regarding a suspicious male who came into the Police Department asking if he had a warrant for his arrest. Upon my arrival, the subject was behaving erratically and made statements about wanting to die. The subject agreed to voluntarily seek mental health assistance. The subject was provided transport to Shoshone Medical Center and admitted without incident. Cleared, NAT.

•Conducted a VIN inspection at the 300 block of E. Cameron Ave. Cleared, public assist.

•Conducted foot patrol on McKinley Avenue, W. Idaho Street, Main Street, Railroad Avenue, Ohio Avenue, and Bunker Avenue.

•Patrolled. Watched the Mission Street Turkey gang taking over some of the Mullan Street Turkey gang territory.

•Assisted with the High School Ceremony on Hill St.

•Assisted County with attempting to locate a source for a loud explosion near Smelterville. Checked Galena Ridge area, but ended up being all quite on the western front.

•Foot patrols that were not included in the other Dave’s previous briefs- McKinley, Main, Portland, Market, E. Cameron, Cedar, W. Riverside, and W. Mullan.

•VIN inspection 200 block E. Riverside.

•Mobile patrols of Kellogg (every form of seasonal weather hit today...interesting).

•Removed debris from the roadway in the 300-400 block of E. Cameron, someone lost a garbage bag and items spilled onto the road.

•Verbal warning given to a driver for speed, speeding took place in the 10 block of W. Cameron

•Alarm going off 400 block of W. Mission, Ipad sitting on the front porch. K76 turned off the alarm (this has happened before with the alarm going off with nobody around).

•Assisted with arrest technique training for the other Dave.

•Group of people hanging out at the basketball court, asked them to disperse (education for the social distancing portion of the stay home order).

•Foot patrols on Bunker Avenue and Emerald Sub-division

•Received landline regarding water leaking into a basement. Advised this would either be Central Shoshone Water District or a plumber.

•Called to 100 block W. Market for suspicious person. Cleared, public assist.

•Traffic stop Hill and Legion, going wrong way on Bunker/Legion cutoff. Cleared, verbal warning.

•Traffic stop 700 block S. Division, verbal for speed. While there, also spoke about contacting prosecutor’s office for authorization to release property from evidence...they will relay the information to property owner to see if a release can be issued.

•Animal complaint 500 block W. Mission it was unfounded for any issues currently, however owner of animals was notified in order to try to remedy the ongoing situation.

•Extra patrol request via landline from SCSO.

•Citizen Contact 900 block of W. Cameron Ave. for motorcycles riding on the mountain behind residence on private property, they have already notified property owner. The land above McDonald’s is private property and the motorcycles are damaging the water shed system that was installed. Citations will be issued for trespassing.

•VIN inspection 400 block W. Mullan Ave.

•Dispatched to an open ended 911 call from heritage health, cleared unfounded. Appears to be internet related (Voice Over Internet Protocol VOIP) and when the 911 goes out, it goes to North American 911 call center (not to our local dispatch). They say this has been ongoing for several weeks, if not months.

•Protection order violation that had happened over the weekend. Cleared, report taken.

•VIN inspection on elder.

•Battery in mad max (K73’s patrol Durango) decided to blow up. That was fun.

•Traffic Stop at Cameron Avenue and Bunker Avenue. Cited for speed 40/25.

•Landline Contact for extra patrols in 200 block of W. Misson Ave. Due to a neighbors dog issue, being at large. Drove by and dogs were in a fenced yard. Will refer to animal control for future.

•Mobile patrol of Kellogg. Conducted foot patrol on E. Cameron Avenue, E. Riverside Avenue. & W. Cameron Avenue.

•Conducted building checks on W. Cameron Avenue. & McKinley Avenue.

•Assisted K75 with suspicious activity on Wildcat Way. Was unable to locate anyone in the area.

•Notified by Dave Smith security of suspicious activity near Wildcat Way. Cleared, UTL.

•Issued 2 parking tickets on Division St. I-90 underpass. Parking in yellow.

•Traffic stop for no turn signal on 400 block W. Cameron Ave. Citation issued.

•Lots and lots of mobile patrol on the cold streets of Kellogg.

•Assisted fire at a fire alarm in the 200 block of North Division. Cleared, other agency assist.

Be happy. Be safe. The grass may look greener, but it might just be weeds.
