PINEHURST – A Kellogg woman was injured Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate-90.

Idaho State Police reports that on Aug. 15 at approximately 11:15 a.m., Connie Schrock, 60, of Kellogg was driving eastbound on I-90 when she noticed items in the roadway that had come from another vehicle. Schrock and her husband then entered the roadway on foot to retrieve the items.

At that time, a silver 2017 Ram 3500 pickup, driven by Glenn Mikkelson, 60, of Pocatello, saw Schrock in the roadway, applied his brakes, and swerved to the right to try to avoid contact.

Schrock stood up at that time and turned into the side of Mikkelson’s vehicle. Mikkelson’s estimated speed was 50 mph at the time of the impact.

Personnel from Shoshone County Fire District No. 2 responded to the scene as well and transported Schrock by ambulance to Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg. Once she was evaluated, Schrock was then taken by air ambulance to Kootenai Health. Schrock was the only person injured in the crash and received non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
