KELLOGG — Freshman Sophia Zufelt scored 13 points, eight coming in the second quarter, for the Lake City Timberwolves in a 57-35 win over the Kellogg Wildcats at Andrews Gymnasium on Wednesday.
Brooklyn Rewers and Ashlynn Shanley scored nine points each for Lake City.
Kendall Pickford and Brenna Hawkins sat out with injuries for Lake City.
“We had some kids out and it gave us a chance to see some kids in different rotations,” said Lake City assistant coach Troy Anderson. “It was nice to see some other kids step up.
We’ve still got some stuff to work on, but we’re hoping we’re taking the right steps each game. We did enough to get the job done tonight.”
Hailey Cheney scored nine points for Kellogg.
“Kellogg was a scrappy bunch,” Anderson said. “They played tough all the way to the final buzzer.”

PLUMMER — Hailey Cheney scored a gamehigh 22 points for the Wildcats in a win over the Knights at Ron Miller Court.
“She had a good game overall,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said of Cheney, who scored eight points in the fourth quarter. “Her size definitely affected us and she’s a good player.”
Kria Peters scored 11 points for Lakeside.
“We didn’t shoot very well from 3-point land (2 for 18) and had 22 turnovers,” Dohrman said. “I’m happy with our effort, but we just needed to do a few things better and give ourselves an opportunity.”
Erin Van Hoose scored nine points for Kellogg.

MULLAN — Leah Frazier scored nine points for the Tigers in a victory over the Wampus Cats in the North Star League opener for both schools.
“We had very balanced play from all our players,” Mullan coach Sherry Leitz said. “They executed very well the majority of the game. Leah played her best game to date, working very well on the inside. Every player contributed and that’s what we need to win games.”
Jazzmyn Nelson and Talowa Fallingwater scored seven points each for Mullan.
