Those Santas can slay!
Santas as far as the eye can see during Dress Like Santa Day at Lookout Pass Ski Resort. The fun event featured roughly 30 folks dressed in traditional Kringle garb as they skied the slopes at Lookout on Tuesday.

LOOKOUT PASS –– It was a Ho-Ho-Hoppin’ good time at Lookout Pass Ski Resort on Dress Like Santa Day.
This year there were roughly 30 fully dressed Santas as well as a few Mrs. Clauses who made their way to the border for the fun and festive discount day.
Each holiday-themed powder hound made the most of their $20 lift ticket.
Lookout does require a bit of pomp and circumstance for their Santa Squadron, but it’s all in good fun as they complete a few runs as a group, take a few group pictures, and then belt out a few holiday tunes before being turned loose on the hill for the rest of the day.
The event always draws a pretty good crowd and all of the money raised from Dress Like Santa Day is then donated to providing Christmas presents to kids in need across the Silver Valley.
For Lookout Pass marketing manager Matt Sawyer, the annual event is always one that he looks forward to, but this year it had a little more meaning than usual – especially for the kids.
“I as well as many parents and young kids need a festive reminder especially during this pandemic,” Sawyer said. “That the little things they do can have a dramatic impact on a child.”
Arguably, the best part of the event is how it transforms Lookout Pass from a North Idaho ski resort into an extreme winter sports Santa cosplay convention.
Santas in the parking lot, Santas in the ticket line, Santas on the chair lifts, and most importantly – and probably most entertaining – Santas shredding their way down the hill.
“Guests get to see Santa’s all clad in red suits, skiing and snowboarding down the slopes,” Sawyer said. “A very festive event. Then the santas will all be skiing or riding through the rest of the day all over the mountain and cruising around the lodge, lifts and parking lot.”
Lookout Pass will be hosting their annual Torchlight Parade on New Year’s Eve, which is open to guest ages 16 an older, as well as solid intermediate skill level skiers.
