Winifred ‘Winnie’ Isabell Archer, 100 Winifred ‘Winnie’ Isabell Archer, 100

| February 21, 2020 12:53 PM

Winifred “Winnie” Isabell Archer, 100, peacefully passed away surrounded by family, at her home Feb. 14, 2020. She was born May 29, 1919, in Tabor, Iowa, to Charles and Neva Forney.

She moved to Idaho in 1947, and married James Archer in 1951. Together they raised children, Charles and Lori on their ranch at Rose Lake. Winifred worked at the Canyon Elementary for many years and thought of everyone there as her second family. She worked hard on the ranch and enjoyed spending time outside. She took pride in growing gardens and being in charge of many obstacles that ranch life often provided. Winnie’s favorite thing to do was spend time with family and talk about their many achievements. She loved to cheer on the “Zags” with the help of her little dog.

In her final days, Winnie appreciated the quality care she received from everyone at Hospice of North Idaho. Special thanks to Lori RN and Erin CNA.

Her siblings, Chalmers and Kathleen; husband James and granddaughter Mellonie preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Onalee; children Charles (Sharon) and Lori; four grandchildren, David (Justine), James, Nicholas (Katie) and Avery (Twylla); and eight great-grandchildren, Melanie, Alexzander, David, Lucas, Archer, Madison, Masey and Mallerie.

A memorial date will be announced at a later date.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
