Karen Ann Wattula, 75

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Karen Ann Wattula, 75, of Elizabeth Park-Kellogg, Idaho, passed away Feb. 21, 2020, at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg. She was born Aug. 24, 1944, in Sisseton, S.D. Karen was the daughter of Axel and Minnie (Hammer) Anderson.

Karen attended and graduated from Hastings High School in Hastings, Neb.

Karen was united in marriage to Wilmer “Junior” E. Fristo Jr. in Hastings. They moved to the Silver Valley in 1973 from Hastings. Junior passed away Feb. 21, 1984. She then married Alfred “Lee” Wattula on July 14, 1984, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Lee passed away Aug. 30, 2014.

Karen had served in customer service at Ace Hardware in Kellogg for many years.

Karen loved and enjoyed her family, crafts, cooking, playing darts and listening to country music and Elvis.

Karen is survived by three daughters, Lori Koutsoukis and her fiancée, Vincent Gallegos of Auburn, Wash., Shelly (Jeff) Blakney of Post Falls, Idaho, and Tanya Martinson and her fiancée, Jason Thompson of Barnesville, Minn.; six grandchildren, Riley Blakney, Jake Blakney, Taylar Blakney, Sidney Erickson, Brooks Martinson and Ryan Martinson; one brother, Milton Munson of Hastings; two sisters, Arvelyn Loudon of Hastings and Peggy Feik of Grand Island, Neb. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; son-in-law Mark Martinson and one brother, Dale Anderson.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at the Kellogg Elks; everyone is welcome.

Karen was very loving and caring, and will be greatly missed by her beloved family.
