Support KSD Supplemental Levy on March 10 Support KSD Supplemental Levy on March 10
Patrons of the Kellogg School District have a chance to be a part of something great on March 10 by voting to approve the supplemental levy being run by Kellogg Joint School District No. 391.
This proposal is a replacement levy which was approved by KSD voters two years ago. This levy is being run at a slightly higher amount due to the fact that operational costs have increased and also due to a recommendation by the district’s auditor that the district’s fund balance should be maintained at an adequate level.
This supplemental levy accounts for approximately 28% of the district’s budget. This supplemental levy is again set to run for two years. In the planning stages of this effort, data gathered from staff and patrons indicated a desire to continue programs at the current level.
Funds from this levy support programs and personnel within the Kellogg School District. These monies are used to pay for programs such as sports, technology, drama, vocal and instrumental music, all-day kindergarten, JROTC, and numerous other activities. Supplemental levy dollars do not to go toward facilities needs. Supplemental levies are not so “supplemental” anymore. Supplemental levies are now a vital part of most school district budgets across the state of Idaho. They meet the difference between what the state provides and what is needed to fund important programs in our district.
Please join us in supporting the students, staff and programs that make our school district great and vote to approve the KSD supplemental levy on the March 10 ballot. Remember: Strong schools make strong communities!
