Support the Kellogg school levy! Support the Kellogg school levy!

| February 25, 2020 11:59 AM

I’m writing this letter in support of the upcoming levy. At Kellogg High School, extracurricular activities make a huge difference to the student body. They help increase our school spirit and they help give us a sense of hard work. Through extracurriculars students are able to understand just how much our community cares about us as students.

For me personally, sports have made a huge impact on my life. I have played three sports every year for my entire time at Kellogg High School. Being in athletics has allowed me to be able to express myself more, and it is what I look forward to every day I come to school. Although I’m not the best in every sport, I still strive to better myself every day. I believe that without athletics in my life I would not be half of the person I am today. Through sports, I have learned some very useful skills and I know I will use them in my future. Some lessons that I have learned are how to work with others, to never give up and your attitude is what matters most. Not only have I learned life lessons, but I have gained an understanding of the attributes leaders need to have, such as respect, commitment, courage, loyalty and pride.

I have had many different coaches that have ultimately taught me much more than just how to shoot a ball. Coaches have one of the greatest impacts on youth, and I know that the impact they have made will prepare me for my future in life and athletics.

I believe that our community is able to come together because of athletics, music and other extracurriculars. We are able to rally together to support our teams, and this will ultimately make our community a better place to live in. Please vote wisely in the upcoming levy, so the students of the Kellogg School District can continue to be apart of extracurriculars in their lives.
